I finally did it! I pulled the plug in March '10 and moved to Panama. ?I live in Panama City and so far so good. The goal was to have a base where the cost of living was reasonable so that I could travel and enjoy a better quality of life.?I've done my first post retirement travel, with a 2 week trip to So. Italy. Still more travel and adventures ahead. This may not be my last stop, so come join me!

I'd love to return, but first stop will be Cuenca, Ecuador, where my traveling buddy just moved to. I spent 3 weeks on the island of Bocos Del Toro in Panama considering it as a possible retirement location. While I did have a fantastic time, I decided the island itself didn't have enough to offer long term for me. I also got a chance to spend a couple of days in Panama City which I enjoyed as well.
